I have a Hi-Point model 995. This is a great little gun. The one i bought came with a laser, sling, and a muzzle break. I also bought 2 extra mags for it.

This gun is for a lot of people a love it or hate it kind of deal. I love the way it looks some hate it. I also love the way it shoots. A lot of people prefer the Cx Storm but i personally am going to be honest i have never shot one so i cant say. This gun was very tight when i first got it and would have to close the bolt to chamber the first round with a little muscle but after some rounds this smoothed right out. I have heard of repeated jams and i have never encountered any malfunctions with this this gun ejecting spent shells.

This gun is chambered for 9mm Luger. I find it to be a nice round for this gun with minimal recoil. I removed my laser as it wasn't that great and mounted a BSA 30mm red-dot scope. After i got it sighted in, i can pull nice tight groups from about 30-35 yards. My brother in laws range does not allow and distance greater for this so for long range accuracy i will have to test later. Like i said i have never had any problem whats so ever in cycling any kind of factory load's regardless of brand or casing in both grains. My only complaint would be is, as this is a carbine and its rather short and i am left handed, i am subjected to some gas getting blasted on my face from time to time, so i have invested in proper glasses (which some would say i should have already had in the first place) i have also gotten hit in the face with a hot shell twice, but no real biggy to me. I love this gun and i think it shoots great

This gun regrettably only has a maximum capacity of 10 rounds. There are 15 round magazines out there made by promag, but in every review i have read they are said to be crap so i have never bought one to see. I have heard leaving them loaded for a few weeks can help them feed better but i don't know well enough to recommend them. The safety is a very basic switch that does the job fine. However locking the breech open is a little tricky and would probably be the only grip i have about this gun. you have to pull the bolt back and push a piece into a tiny cut out to hold it open. The 9mm does not lock open after the last round however the 40 caliber version does. Another thing is that the mag release button does not drop the magazine it only releases it and you have to drop it by hand. The stock is all plastic and when you tear the gun down you will see that it is rather flimsy, Their is an aftermarket one available by ATI which i am looking into purchasing later as well as a rubber pad for it as this will slightly increase the length getting more space from the ejection port and my face.
