Our first ever trip to the range was, to say the least, frustrating. Unable to reasonably fire the pistol because of the hard trigger and long travel made her give up right off the bat! I am in my mid fifties and 6ft 1in and 242lbs and admit I had a tough time using it for the first new gun ever in my hands. I put the nessasary mussle into it to squeeze off the first clip ever in this pistol and found it did at least group well for me, a first time shooter (after CHL class). But then the wife tried her pistol again with both hands' trigger fingers and managed to get it to fire and it started jamming at a average of every four shots her next (and only clip) out of the 150 total rounds we shot today. Sometimes it jammed two and three times in a row, each time exactly the same; the top of the barrel would trap the spent shell horizonal in the ejection port with shell facing forward. We were using "Winchester 9mm Luger 115 GR. full metal jacket" shells for the first 50 rounds and then the "Remington UMC 9mm Luger 115 GR. Metal Case" for the last 100 rounds. Frustrations were high along with embarrasment in front of the other experienced shooters on the range. So, though our goal was to spend the day with the 550 rounds we brought to get used to the pistol, we stopped at 150 and left. |
