The Taurus Judge revolver is probaby the best pistol Taurus makes. It's a very inexpancive gun, mine was just about $500 out the door. As far as the look goes it's kind of goofy looking being that the cylinder is three inches long, longer then the smith & wesson 500 I think. The feel of the gun is surprisingly nice. I just returned from a week long backpacking trip and I carried this pistol the whole time and kinda forgot it was there. The grips that it comes with are weird feeling but that's an easy fix, just change them out for the Hogue grips. This gun functions perfectly shooting eather the .410ga shot shell, or the .45LC pistol round. I can tell you this gun will handle a .45LC in a compressed round or as most people call them a hot round. What Taurus didn't say when this gun first came out is that it will handle .454 cassull round. I just kinda tried it one day and it worked just fine. I have since seen a artical in this months American Riflemen mag that not only says taurus is comming out with a carbine model of their judge pistol but that they are capable of chambering the .454 casull. It is a really nice pistol for the money but I will only recommend the stainless version because the finishes taurus offers are not very good. This pistol is the ultimate survival gun because for the first time you have the ability to kill small game like squirls and birds, and to kill large game like deer, and with the .454 casull round you can kill anything like a 1000lb pissed off grizzly that's looking to make you a meal. And you can do it with just one gun.
